A 'go-to' model from Axis; this outdoor-ready, vandal-resistant fixed dome includes Axis' powerful ARTPEC-7 Chipset and can capture detailed 5MP resolution video at up to 25 frames per second (fps). Advanced imaging technologies, such as Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) help to produce high-quality images in challenging lighting conditions. The unit also features OptimisedIR for improved night-vision at a distance of up to 40m, as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE) support and edge storage. In addition, support for the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) enable the use of high-performance analytics applications to help enhance alarm signalling.

Camera

The camera features a varifocal lens which provides horizontal viewing angles up to 104° and allows optimum scene coverage to be set during installation. Integrated IR LEDs with OptimisedIR technology help to enhance true day/night recording at up to a 40m distance - enabling the camera to intelligently adapt the level of the of infrared illumination to best suit the scene and avoid overexposure. Two-way audio recording is also possible through the connection of an external microphone and speaker via Axis T61 audio and I/O interfaces (not included).

Imaging

Full colour images are produced, even in ambient light extremes thanks to Lightfinder 2.0 technology. Forensic WDR is also included and optimises video by lowering noise levels and increasing the image signal to ensure details are visible in both dark and bright areas. Motion-adaptive exposure helps to ensure sharp video by significantly reducing the motion blur from approaching or nearby objects; while Axis Corridor Format vertically orientates the video stream, allowing the field of view to be optimised for monitoring narrow areas. Additionally, users can view the original image in greater detail with digital PTZ controls and multi-view streaming allows 2 areas in the camera’s field of view to be cropped and streamed separately for live viewing or recording.

Video analytics

This high-quality model features Axis Object Analytics – allowing users to detect and classify people and vehicles as they enter a user-defined area or cross a user-defined virtual line. Video motion and tampering detection methods can also be configured to alert users of possible incidents in real-time via a choice of notification methods including email. With support for ACAP, users are also able to install other advanced analytics applications from Axis and third-party developers.

Video management

On-board storage provides a backup if the network fails, recording files onto the MicroSD card (not included). Sophisticated video management is also possible by integrating the camera with high-performance video management systems, such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect. Users can also implement a cloud-based solution through the Morphean Cloud CCTV platform or CamStreamer Cloud.

Installation

The camera is housed in an IP66 and IK10-rated casing for durable use in exposed outdoor locations that are prone to tampering attempts. support for PoE reduces cabling to help simplify installation and remote zoom and focus capabilities help to make setup a straightforward task.
