This streamlined dome IP camera is part of Axis’ popular P32 range and captures detail-packed 5MP resolution video of indoor scenes at full frame rate. The unit features advanced imaging technologies, such as Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and Lightfinder 2.0, for improved image capture in challenging lighting conditions – while OptimisedIR helps to enhance night-vision at a distance of up to 40m. This powerful unit features the Axis ARTPEC-7 chipset, as well as support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) and the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) for the use of high-performance analytics applications.

Camera

The unit’s varifocal lens provides horizontal views of up to 104° and enables users to achieve the optimal viewing angle at installation. True day/night recording is enhanced by OptimisedIR technology at a distance of up to 40m. This technology intelligently adapts the level of the of infrared illumination from the integrated LEDs to best suit the scene and avoid overexposure. In addition, two-way audio recording is possible through the connection of an external microphone and speaker via Axis T61 audio and I/O interfaces (sold separately).

Imaging

Advanced imaging capabilities deliver high quality, reliable imaging. Axis’ Lightfinder 2.0 technology produces full colour images even in near darkness; while Forensic WDR technology lowers noise levels and increases the image signal to ensure details are clearly visible in high-contrast scenes. Axis Corridor Format is also included and helps to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream. Additionally, motion-adaptive exposure helps to ensure sharp video by significantly reducing the motion blur from approaching or nearby objects.

Video analytics

This advanced model includes Axis Object Analytics which enable users to detect and classify vehicles and people as they enter a user-defined area or cross a user-defined virtual line. This makes the camera an ideal choice for a range of applications, including warehouses and carparks. Camera-based video motion detection and tempering alarms are also configurable to help alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. Furthermore, ACAP support allows the installation of advanced analytics applications from Axis and other third-party developers.

Video management

Edge storage provides a backup solution in the case of network connection failure (MicroSD card not included). Sophisticated video management is possible by integrating the camera with high-performance video management systems, such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect. In addition, a cloud-based solution can be implemented through the Morphean Cloud CCTV platform or CamStreamer Cloud.

Installation

The unit offers straightforward installation with remote zoom and focus capability, as well as support for PoE – providing power and network connectivity over a single cable. It is also housed in an IK10-rated casing, enabling reliable installation in indoor locations that are prone to tampering attempts.
