Overview of the Axis M5065

This palm-sized PTZ network camera by Axis provides unobtrusive, HD monitoring of indoor locations when ceiling mounted. It can communicate wirelessly with connected Z-Wave Plus devices to provide a compact security solution (with reduced cabling) that is suitable for smaller enterprises such as retail stores or hospitality venues. In addition, this unit can be installed easily using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and areas of interest can be examined in detail using the camera's pan/tilt functionality and 5x optical zoom.

The camera’s wireless I/O connectivity enables on/off commands to be used with up to six, Z-Wave Plus connected devices in a system setup. Helping to enhance security surveillance operations, when paired with the Axis T8342 door / window senor, this camera can automatically change its preset position if a door or window is opened – capturing potentially vital activity occurring.

The compact camera delivers high-quality HD 1080p resolution at full frame rate and pan/tilt functionality enables users to navigate across a wide area of the scene. 5x optical zooming enables real-time investigation into specific regions of interest, and quick close-ups of the original image can be examined using the unit’s 10x digital zoom.

Users can listen to activity occurring close to the camera via the built-in microphone in live view and these audio recordings can also be listened to in the playback. Audio triggered alerts can be used in conjunction with configurable video motion detection alarms to help inform users of activity via email notification. Additionally, these alarms can also be set to trigger MicroSD card recording (card not included) - ensuring all motion is captured.

Axis Companion Application is supported and provides a simple, free video management solution for up to 16 IP cameras. Available as a PC client or mobile application for Android and iOS devices, this handy software provides remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings. Support for PoE supplies the camera with both power and network connectivity via a single cable – simplifying installation. In addition, support for Axis' Zipstream technology optimises the stream, reducing the bandwidth by separating areas of interest to maintain a higher quality than areas of little interest.

Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
