Overview of the Axis A8207-VE

This Axis network door station is an open IP-based door station for video identification, intercom style communication and remote entry control. It features a built-in camera which delivers 6 megapixel resolution, improved low-light performance and advanced imaging technologies to enable identification of persons - even in challenging lighting conditions. Other features include two-way audio, support for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and remote access via the Axis Companion Application.

The door station’s built-in camera produces detail-packed video at up to 30 frames per second (fps), whilst Forensic WDR technology allows details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly. Identification is enhanced via the integrated microphone and speaker, delivering echo-free two-way audio support. The combination of this high quality imaging and full duplex audio, provides an advanced intercom system that allows the user to easily see and communicate with visitors.

Based on open standards, this flexible unit can be easily integrated with third-party video management software and other applications. Axis Camera Station software is included and provides all the necessary features needed in a reliable efficient CCTV surveillance system – making it ideal for medium-sized business applications.

Thanks to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) support, this device integrates easily with various IP phone systems to help meet advanced audio and video communication requirements. The unit also includes multiple I/O ports for the remote control of door locks and other equipment to help improve access control. A suitable solution for employee access, the built-in access control reader (RFID) allows remote entrance control using a PC, desk phone or mobile device.

A range of configurable video motion detection methods are included to enhance scene awareness. When these alarms are triggered, the unit efficiently alerts are the user of activity via a choice of several notification methods such as email. Additionally, these alarms can also be set to trigger MicroSD card recording (card not included) – ensuring all motion is captured.

Support for PoE allows the door station to receive both power and network connection via a single network cable. This also provides a sufficient amount of power to support and control most standard door locks directly from the unit.
