It automatically alerts users, in real-time, when a violation has been detected which can help to reduce congestion and allow traffic to flow more freely on city streets or other areas where parking violations may cause significant disruption. Users can also easily define custom detection zones to monitor specific areas of interest automatically.

Axis Parking Violation Detection is an edge-based analytics app that is designed to automatically detect illegally parked vehicles. Users can set detection zones in areas where only authorised vehicles should stop or park such as in bus and cycle lanes. The application features an on-image overlay function which visually highlights the suspected vehicle, making it easier for traffic officers to identify whether a violation has occurred. When a violation is detected, the app will also automatically send a notification to a video management system (VMS) – enabling police and enforcement officers to respond quickly to detected incidents. Additionally, by installing the application on all relevant traffic cameras, users can analyse hundreds of streets and zones simultaneously via their chosen VMS; particularly useful in city surveillance applications.

Integration

This scalable solution can be set up to cover a full avenue using multiple cameras to cover individual lanes of traffic at a distance of up to 100m each. It runs directly on Axis IP cameras, helping to provide improved processing time and a more cost-efficient system. In addition, the app is compatible with a range of third-party VMS applications, so users can easily connect with their existing systems.

Please note: one Parking Violation Detection licence is required per IP camera.
