SecuritySpy from Ben Software is a professional security surveillance application for the Mac which allows you to connect a number of devices for live image monitoring, recording and playback with audio for compatible devices. This license is unlimited and does not restrict the number of cameras that can be connected simultaneously.
This is version 2.0 of the software which increases the performance of video output significantly and adds a range of new features, enhancements and compatible cameras. Remote access is enhanced too with an improved Java applet for viewing on a remote computer in a web browser. SecuritySpy supports a wide range of devices including IP cameras, webcams, analogue cameras, video servers and digital multiplexers. It will even support the Apple iSight camera built into a MacBook.
Recording is handled using SecuritySpy’s built-in motion detection routines. This records video only when movement is detected making a significant reduction in required storage space. Alternatively a time-lapse function for continuous recording is available. Notification of alarms can also be set up to notify the user by email, by audible alarm, FTP image transfer or custom actions using AppleScript.

- AppleScript support allows scripts to be run when the software triggers an alarm. Scripting in this way gives endless possibilities as to how your system will react to alarm-based activity
- New screen capturing methods are available for v2.0 of the software utilizing the free screen-capture add-on
