Live Webcam Coverage of the 2007 Military Tattoo

Whilst many opt to view the performances live at Edinburgh Castle, others prefer to watch the performances away from it (not least because tickets are like gold dust!).

21st Century Surfers Get Technical With IP Cameras and More

The stereotypical surfer dude has given way to determined and technologically aware individuals, male and female, who stops at nothing to catch the best waves.

Gone are the days when these guys wander down to the beach to “hopefully” catch a wave. They now use sophisticated equipment including IP technology, broadband services and weather data solutions to monitor the wave action.

Truly dedicated sports men and women, whose lives revolve around the ocean, work commitments, shopping or homework play second fiddle to surfing the waves.

Surf related websites like Wavewatch have become an integral part of everyday life. To outsiders they are full of statistical data which doesn’t mean very much, but to the avid surfer they are a direct connection to Mother Nature. Up to the minute weather information including swell heights, wind speeds, satellite imagery, isobars and water temperatures. Indeed, everything a surfer needs to catch the best barrels.

Our Streamdays service has become another important tool to the surfing fraternity. Our live uk webcams at Croyde Bay, Newquay and Cornwall have become extremely popular, and we fully expect this trend to continue.

If you have a surfcam and would like for it to be included on www.streamdays.com please contact us. We are soon to launch a free webcam hosting service which is aimed at making it simpler than ever to launch a professional interactive webcam on your website.

If you don’t already have a webcam, Streamdays offers a number of packages to get you started. Just give us a call on 0151 633 2111.

Swallows, Amazons and the Old Man of Coniston

In a bumper week or Streamdays Webcam Hosting we make another customer live at streamdays.com. Bank Ground, a B&B and self catering farmhouse sits right on Coniston Water in the Lake District in some truly stunning and awe-inspiring scenery.

Bank Ground and Coniston were also the setting for much of Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons, both the book and the film.

What would John and Susan Walker make of this?

Derby Peregrine Falcon Webcams Almost Too Popular!

Streamdays Webcam Hosting web servers are being given a real load test by the Derby Cathedral Peregrine Project webcam. They’re almost too popular, but not so much that the tech heads at Network Webcams can’t keep the service running.

While many thousands of visitors to the project’s live webcam page have been watching the falcon family take turns incubating their 4 soon-to-hatch eggs, we’ve been dealing with the massive surge in bandwidth this has generated. It seems the cameras are so good anyone who sees them leaves them running all day long!

The large resolution live webcam images (704×576) give such clear pictures of the nest that viewers can watch every tiny detail of the falcons’ comings and goings.

This is the kind of project Streamdays Webcam Hosting is made for and we will be working with the Peregrine Project in the coming weeks and months to improve the service as far as we can.

Follow the birds’ progress on the Peregrine Blog.

Streamdays’ Peregrine Falcon Family Lay 4 Eggs Live On Webcam

Streamdays Webcam Hosting customer Derby Cathedral Peregrine Project has seen its Falcon family lay 4 eggs in the period between 4th April to 11th April. Each new arrival was caught live on the Peregrine Falcon webcams installed on Derby Cathedral and hosted in Streamdays.com.

Falcons lay 4 eggsA pair of cameras monitor and record the incubating Falcon pair 24/7 helping the project keep a paternal eye on the growing family. We’re watching too, and can’t wait to meet the falcon chicks when they arrive.

Spring Lambs and The English Countryside on this Cornish Webcam

It’s Springtime: the time of the year when the weather picks up (or just continues going crazy, thanks to climate change), the lambs are jumping and the thick layers start to come off. It’s a time when the English countryside comes into its own.

There’s now’t better than being outdoors in the country on a crisp, spring day and the new Streamdays webcam from Markwell Farm Cottages captures a little of that springtime spirit and the verve of a summer soon to return.

The webcam view is large and the details are clear; it’s one of the most scenic and picturesque webcams we’ve had the pleasure to supply and we hope it becomes as popular as it should be.

Forget your relaxation tapes and forget your reiki. This is what relaxation is all about.

Aberdeenshire Council Chooses Streamdays Webcam Hosting for Banff Webcam

Aberdeenshire’s Banff Harbour Webcam has gone live utilising Streamdays Webcam Hosting. A high-zoom PTZ was used to best capture the harbour and the surrounding areas.

We’re sure the North Sea and the North wind will give it a battering. As a weather cam this one is great and recreational mariners are advised to check the camera before venturing out of their cosy homes!

It looks mighty rough out there…

Catch the Last Days of Winter on the Les Coches Skicam

Winter will be leaving us soon (did it ever really arrive?) and what better way to see it out than to ski the French Alps, or even better, do it from the warmth and comfort of your own home?

The Ski La Source live webcam shows amazing views of Mont Blanc and the valleys and while there has been less slow this year than of late the skiing is good and the views remain spectacular.

This camera has been offline during the winter but has emerged from hibernation resplendent as a newborn and with crisp, clear images of some of the finest views in the Alps, is not to be missed.

Wedding Webcam Wonderment for Watchful Well-wishers

Romance can sometimes be about spontaneity and throwing caution to the wind, and over the years places like Las Vegas and Gretna Green have been synonymous with just that.

Now, of course, marriage in famous wedding locations like Gretna is less about running away, crossing the border and getting hitched to your teenage sweetheart and more about simply providing an historic and memorable wedding experience. Still, there are those who will miss out on the experience of their loved ones’ magical day through simply not being able to be there, being in another country, or timezone.

IP cameras, as webcams, end all that. Now it is possible for any family member to be there and to feel part of the wedding ceremony. The live Streamdays webcam at Gretna’s Anvil Hall is showing that wedding on the web can be more inclusive than ever before.

View the Gretna wedding cam on streamdays.com or at Gretna Weddings.

Elopers beware: your families may just get in on the act after all!
