New demo video for the Axis P1367-E IP camera

It’s always interesting to see new developments in IP camera technology and Axis’ ‘true’ outdoor P13 models where defiantly a duo that piqued our interest. Eager to take a closer look, we felt it a great opportunity to put one of the units through its paces and showcase the findings in our latest product video. The P1367-E is one of the first outdoor-ready CS-mount cameras from Axis, featuring a unique mechanical platform and the ability to function in even the most extreme temperatures – ranging from as low as -40°C and as high as 60°C (intermittently). This featured packed unit also includes a range of advanced imaging technologies and is an ideal choice for high-quality, round-the-clock surveillance.

The P1367-E delivers detailed 5 megapixel video at up to 25 frames per second (fps) and offers a horizontal viewing angle of up to 83°. With support for both CS- and intelligent CS-mount (i-CS) lenses, the unit’s innovative built-in camera rail system gives you the flexibility to fit larger zoom lenses when different focal lengths are required. In addition, the rail system also allows you to easily roll the sensor to enable Corridor Format – maximising area coverage and reducing bandwidth when monitoring narrow scenes.

This unit also includes Forensic WDR (wide dynamic range) technology which is optimised for motion and helps to retain detail across images with high contrast lighting, whilst ensuring that few motion artefacts are apparent during high levels of activity. As light levels drop, Axis’ Lightfinder technology allows the camera to continue to deliver full colour video. If light drops even further, an integrated IR-cut filter produces clear black-and-white images – for 24-hour monitoring. In addition, this model also comes with an adjustable weather shield, providing the lens with added protection against heavy rain and sun beams.

Additional features found in the Axis P1367-E include: –

  • Award-winning Axis Zipstream technology – helps lower bandwidth and storage requirements. It does this by analysing and optimising the video stream in real time, recording interesting detail in high quality, whilst filtering other areas out.
  • IP66 and IK10-rated housing – designed for durable external use and offers protection against harsh weather conditions.
  • Edge storage – on-board MicroSD card slot allows data to be stored locally for a handy backup if network connection is suddenly lost. we offer a free 64gb SD card with every Axis camera.
  • Two-way audio – built-in microphone and integrated audio I/O ports enable audio recording and two-way communication with those close to the camera.
  • Power-over-Ethernet – supplies the unit with both power and network connectivity over a single cable for a quick and cost-effective installation.
  • Flexible video management software options – Free Axis Companion software provides simple video management for up to 16 IP cameras, whilst Axis Camera Station delivers more versatile, advanced monitoring and recording – supporting up to 32 Axis devices per system. This unit also supports video management through third-party platforms such as Milestone XProtect.

The network camera was installed in our testing space, where we collected footage from the daytime, night-time and in black and white mode. Watch our bitesize demo video below to see the results.

Please note that footage was captured at HD 1080p for editing reasons.

During the daytime, the Axis P1367-E captured clear, highly-detailed video with finely balanced colour and contrast levels – all at a consistent 25 frames per second. At night, we can see Axis’ Lightfinder technology in full effect – resulting in bright, full colour images that feature minimal noise. In its monochrome state, the camera was able to maintain reduced exposure levels and handle light from passing cars reasonably well.

With its powerful 5 megapixel resolution, advanced imaging technologies and robust housing, the Axis P1367-E delivers a highly-detailed and reliable monitoring solution that is optimum for exposed outdoor areas. In addition, thanks to its innovative rail design, you have to flexibility to fit different lenses to suit a wide range of applications, such as loading bays, service stations and manufacturing warehouses.
