We’ve just had word from Y-cam that they will be launching a new firmware for their 2nd generation Y-cam models White, Black and Knight. It will feature:

• 3 video streams (a Primary stream, a secondary stream and a mobile stream which can be configured separately)
• Mobile stream includes audio (ARM)
• Alarm scheduling
• Improved motion detection algorithm
• Improved UPnP configuration that includes RTP
• Multiple FTP paths
• Multiple e-mail servers
• Upload multiple images via FTP
• Buffering of pre and post motion detection images at a specified frame rate and for a specified time.
• Support for a larger number of mobile phones
• Arm/Disarm of all motion detection
• Improved communications

The new firmware will be available from the 1st October.

Available now! The Axis 233D high-end network PTZ dome camera has been upgraded and now includes Auto-tracking. Auto-tracking automatically detects a moving object (e.g. person of vehicle) and follows it within the camera’s area of coverage. Auto-tracking is particularly usefull for unmanned CCTV security operations, both indoor and outdoor. All new Axis 233D cameras will be shipped with this additional functionality built-in. Existing users of the Axis 233D can install auto-tracking for free by downloading the latest firmware from the Axis website.
