It’s Called Team Building, not Boss Killing

Like a scene from a macabre video game or a war movie flashback we stand on the eerie Black Fortress as the opposing troops advance towards us; tooled up and with more ammunition than they’re ever likely to need it’s 7 against 2: staff against Directors.
As they approach, the fire in their eyes is visible, the fear palpable and the sweat smelly! The staff are on a mission.
As the first bullets rain down spitting paint from every angle, turning the Black Fortress an oily shade of orange, the temptation to open fire is overwhelming. With limited ammunition and defense of the tower our primary objective (along with not getting shot in the b***s), we hold off until our firing lines are clean and fire off a few head shots to fix our aim. With height on our side we have them pinned down.
Ok, so it was nothing of the sort. It was a wild free-for-all culminating in a shoot-the-boss episode not seen since the phrase “going postal” was coined. A Bukowski-esque firefight if ever there could be such a thing.
We did hold them off though, and yes, I’m still smarting. Of course we’ll be doing this again.
