Funerals Finally Make it Online with Webcams
We wondered how long it would take. It’s now possible, so long as you pop your clogs in County Down, to have your tearful send-off webcast to the online masses - or, we hope, just to your loving friends and family.
As recently bereaved myself, I know that this service is going to be a hit no matter what way you look at it. As globalisation increases families are more and more likely to be separated geographically far and wide (as mine is) and with separation comes longing. To be denied the opportunity to say goodbye to a loved one in person is a cruel blow and anything which softens that blow is to be welcomed.
Wedding webcams are popular for the same reason. Funeral webcams are going to be huge. Death is an inevitable part of life and our passings, whilst in the grander scheme of things (not that I am suggesting there actually is a scheme of things, mind) mean little, on a time-scale of generations and on a human level death is a big deal.
The sense of loss mourners feel is not to be diminished. The contact a webcam can give both to the deceased and to family members attending the funeral can make all the difference to any family and friends far away and unable to attend the funeral.
Let’s hope more undertakers undertake this as a business opportunity and a chance to help heal the wounds death inevitably leaves behind.

This is a service we can provide. Perhaps you could give us a call to discuss?
